FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ARE Q SQUARED PRODUCTS MICROWAVEABLE?
To properly care for and maintain the long life of your melamine products, we do not recommended microwaving them. Exposure to microwaves can disturb the integrity of the material, especially when combined with highly acidic foods like tomato sauce. We find our customers prefer to use a separate microwavable plate or bowl to heat meals and then serve them on our melamine dishes or platters.
ARE THEY DISHWASHER SAFE?
Yes, they are dishwasher safe, top and bottom rack.
IS IT SAFE TO PUT COOKED FOOD DIRECTLY FROM THE GRILL ONTO YOUR PLATES?
Yes. Our plates are heat-resistant and can withstand temperatures of up to 158°F / 70°C so placing hot, grilled food onto the plates is perfectly safe.
ARE THEY OVEN-SAFE?
No, they are not recommended for oven use due to the extremes in heat temperatures.
ARE THEY BPA FREE?
Yes, all of our products are BPA free. Melamine production is non-petroleum based (unlike polypropylene products such as plastic food containers).
ARE THEY KID-FRIENDLY?
Q Squared products are virtually shatterproof, so kids and families can use our products indoors and outdoors without worrying about chipping or breaking.
IS MELAMINE FOOD SAFE?
Not all melamine is created equally, but Q Squared melamine is recognized as the highest quality on the market. Our dinnerware is 100% melamine and produced in our small and specialized factory. We abide by the strictest manufacturing standards and proudly use all natural dyes.
CAN I USE KNIVES ON YOUR PLATES AND PLATTERS?
We recommend avoiding the use of serrated knives and utensils on our solid color and patterned dinnerware. If and when scratches do occur, they will be less apparent on our white dinnerware and serveware.
WHERE ARE YOUR PRODUCTS MADE?
Our products are designed in New York City and manufactured in our factory in China.
HOW CAN I RECYCLE THE MELAMINE PRODUCTS THAT I BOUGHT?
Melamine is categorized under Class #7 on the list of Plastic Resin Codes. This means that it is a widely used plastic that does not fit into the more commonly used #1-6 classifications and should not be thrown in your recycling bin. Melamine cannot be melted or recycled like other plastics. However, it can be ground down and used as a filler for other plastics or wood composites. Visit www.iwanttoberecycled.org
